The end of school is in sight, and for kids of all ages around the country, summer camp is the place where exciting adventures, lasting friendships and fond memories are made.

We have compiled the Maine Summer Camp resource to help you find links to area camps where your child can connect and commune with nature, learn new skills, play sports and have a blast in the great outdoors. From day camps to overnight residential camps, there are so many to choose from your family might want to check out more than one this summer if time permits.

For example, there are camps that encourage creativity and connecting to community through dance, theater and art, and camps that provide opportunities to learn to sail, learn to ride horses and learn to play soccer and football.

There are also exploration camps, 4-H and YMCA camps and traditional camps that offer plenty of time for the good life of crafts, swimming, campfires, singing and fishing, archery, hiking and nature walks, among other traditional activities.

Is your child a budding inventor? How about checking out a robotics camp? Can't keep your kids out of the tidal pools? There a camp for enterprising scientists and sea explorers too. For kids interested in farming and agriculture, check out the camps offering the chance to work as farm hands with belted Galloway "Oreo Cookie " cows and those that teach how to grow food and vegetables.

There's just so much for kids to do at the wide variety of summer camps in Maine. Pack them up and send them off, and then take yourself on a little adventure of your own!
