CAMDEN — The Jade Door Students at Children's House Montessori School today announced the Jade Door Garden Seed Sale. The children are selling 25 easy to grow vegetable, herb, and flower seed varieties specially selected and produced by Fedco Seeds. Fedco, a cooperative seed and garden supply company located in Clinton Maine, is widely known for offering high quality, hearty seeds since 1978. The children will be taking seed orders through Friday, Feb. 26. Seed packets cost $2 each. Varieties include Early Wonder Beet, Summer Lettuce Mix, Bouquet Dill, and State Fair Zinnia Mix.

Jade Door is the elementary classroom of Children's House Montessori School. The multi-age classroom is comprised of students ages 6-10 actively participating in Montessori education which promotes the development of the whole child, facilitates the natural growth of self-discipline, and cultivates each child's inherent joy in learning. "The children decided together to use money they raise to both fund an overnight trip in June and to support the weekend backpack program in Knox County which helps children with food on the weekends," explains teacher Darci Grotton in a news release. Fourth year student Haydee Temple plans to sell to everyone she knows. "It's as fun as selling Girl Scout Cookies!" she grins.

A complete listings of the seed offerings is available at fedcoseeds.com./forms/jade.pdf. Anyone wishing to place an order can do so by printing the form and sending it with a check payable to:
Children's House Montessori School to 58 Elm Street, Camden ME 04843.

Seeds will be ready for pick up mid March. For an additional $8 the children will mail seed orders within the continental US.
