Join the Camden Public Library for their inaugural Storytellers Open Mic Night, inspired by National Public radio’s beloved Moth Radio Hour. The event will take place on Tuesday, July 18, at 7:00 pm. All are welcome, no experience needed. Stories are limited to five minutes and traditionally are true stories told without notes. In keeping with Maine tradition, a few tall tales will not be discouraged.

This event is part of Adult Summer Reading 2017 – Read ME!

"Read ME is a new statewide summer reading program that gets Maine's adults all reading the same books; by Maine authors and recommended by a Maine author, no less. It's so easy, you can't NOT do it!" Said the Maine State Library & Maine Humanities Council in a statement about the program.

The books are one fiction—Unknown Caller by Debra Spark, one nonfiction—The Moth: 50 True Stories. The Camden Public Library is also offering a special summer reading bingo card, with prizes for each row of bingo you complete! Finish the book review portion on the back of the card to be entered for a grand prize drawing! For more information, please email Cayla at cmiller@librarycamden.org or call the library at 236-3440.
