St. Giles' Episcopal Church on Route 126 in Jefferson will host the first of its free 2017 wintertime suppers for Midcoast residents Saturday, Jan. 14 at 5 p.m.

Getting through winters in Maine is a challenge for many of us, and St. Giles' response is to offer free suppers one Saturday per month January through March. All are invited for simple, hearty fare that is served in the parish hall. No reservations are needed. Featured on Jan. 14 will be stuffed pasta shells, plus salad, bread, dessert and a beverage.

If you could use a hot meal, consider yourself invited and please let others in the community know of these suppers. The dates for the future suppers are Feb. 11 and March 11.

St. Giles is located on Route 126, the Gardiner Road, one-quarter mile west of the intersection of 126 and Route 213, the Bunker Hill Road.
