THOMASTON — Sidney L. Peasley, 71, of Thomaston, died March 17, 2017, at the Sussman House in Rockport. Born in Rockland on Feb. 1, 1946, he was the son of Nathan G. and Anna (Burrill) Peasley and was a 1964 graduate of Rockport High School.

During high school, Sid went to work at First National, where he has remained through the company's acquisition by Hannaford. He had worked in the Rockland, Boothbay, Damariscotta and Augusta stores before retiring as produce manager.

For the last several years, Sid has resided in Thomaston, having lived previously in Chelsea and Camden.

His hobbies included reading, watching NASCAR and spending time with his cat, Bella. He enjoyed day trips with his ex-wife and great friend, Pam, and spending time with her family.

Sid kept in contact with his many friends over the years, including Michael Azevedo, with whom he shared the same birth day.

He will be greatly missed by his many friends at the Knox Hotel apartments in Thomaston.

Sid was predeceased by his parents, Nathan G. Peasley Sr. and Anna Peasley; and two brothers, Marvin Peasley and Carroll Peasley. Surviving is one son, Steven Peasley and his wife, Roxanne, of Owls Head; two grandchildren, Sean and Chelsea Peasley; his brother, Nathan Peasley and his wife, Janis, of Owls Head; his sister, Patricia Peasley of South Portland; his ex-wife, Pam Peasley; and several nieces and nephews.

Spring services will be held later in Mountain View Cemetery in Camden.
