BELFAST – The Lord took another angel home on Jan. 14, 2017. Shirley M. Porter, 75, of Belfast, passed away peacefully at home. She was holding the hands of her sister and best friend, Joann Ash, and a very special cousin, Madeline Sullivan.

Shirley was born in Belfast on March 6, 1941, to the late Lloyd and Priscilla (Stevens) Webber. She was a member of Belfast United Methodist Church, where she enjoyed volunteering and attending many church functions. Shirley loved her animals, shopping and cooking – especially baking sweets.

She was predeceased by her husband, Carroll Porter Sr., in 2007; and her siblings, Dallas Webber, Raymond Webber, Beverly Suddy, Loraine Webber and Brenda Hutchinson. Shirley is survived by her four children, Roland Ladd and his wife, Kim, of Brooks, Melonie Ladd of Florida, Shawn Ladd of Tennessee and Donald Ladd of Florida; her siblings, Joann Ash and her husband, Walter, of Belfast, Eugene Webber and his wife, Barbara, of Arizona, and Sandra Johnson and her husband, Jimmy, of Belfast; as well as many nieces, nephews and grandchildren.

Auntie Shirley adored her great-nephew and great-nieces, Brody and Baylee Ash of Northport and Kylie Snider of Texas, often referring to them as her "grandbabies.” She was a second grammie to them all. She was there for the welcoming home party for Kylie and the birth of Brody and Baylee. She spent every chance she could with them, never missing a birthday party, outing or day to spend with them. She will be greatly missed by all.

At her request, there will be no service. Arrangements are under the care of Riposta Funeral Home.
