CAMDEN — Sheila Nestar Conner, 81, died July 12, 2014, at Windward Gardens in Camden. Born in Bucksport on April 20, 1933, she was the daughter of Joseph R. and Alva (Bossi) Johnson.

On March 26, 1966, she married Myron A. Conner in Bucksport. In 1972, she moved from Bucksport to Camden , where she became a member of various organizations, such as the Camden Senior Citizens and Megunticook Grange; as well as the Oceanview and Seaside Chapters of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was also a member of the Chestnut Street Baptist Church in Camden, where she taught Sunday school, sang in the church choir and was active in the mission circle.

For several years, Sheila lived in Connecticut working as a teacher's aide in a public school and also did clerical work for Aetna Insurance Company.

Her hobbies included sewing, needlepoint, crocheting and knitting.

Surviving are her four children, Deborah Littlefield of Ellsworth, Anthony Chambers of Lewiston, Evelyn Crouse and her husband, Les, of Waldoboro, and Marc Conner and his wife, Sharon, of Camden and their two children, Todd Conner and his wife, Katie, of Bangor, and Courtney Conner of Camden; one stepdaughter, Sylvia Wardwell and her husband, Horace, of Sargentville; two brothers, Brian Johnson and his wife, Priel, of Florida, and Mark Johnson of Florida; as well as additional grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by two sisters, Jeanette Hatch and Verly Warren.

A memorial service will be held Friday, July 25 at 5 p.m. at Long Funeral Home, 9 Mountain St. in Camden, with Rich Wellman officiating. Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family at a later date.
