Fri, 09/12/2014 - 10:30am

ROCKLAND — For the month of September the Good Tern Co-Op Cafe Gallery will feature the low relief polymer clay work of Dee Obuchon. Dee Obuchon is a Midcoast native who studied fine art at The University of Southern Maine. She has a background in ceramics and has been sculpting with polymer clay for years.

These new works, inspired by the coastal landscape, are wall-hung sculptures of stony coasts and flowing tides made entirely of polymer clay. Obuchon states, "I am a little obsessed with small pieces coming together to make a larger picture."

The exhibition will be up for the month of September in the Good Tern Natural Foods Co-op Café Gallery. A closing party and wine tasting is scheduled for September 30, 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. The artist will be present answering questions and doing demonstrations.

The Good Tern Coop and Cafe at 750 Main Street in Rockland is open Monday through Saturday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sundays 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. 594-8822 for more information.
