Sept. 19 Sports Scoreboard
There were 10 high school sporting events to close the school week out Friday, Sept. 19. Included in the 10 events were one cross country meet, one football game, five girls soccer matches and three boys soccer matches.

Boys Soccer: Oceanside 4, Mt. View 1
Boys Soccer: Erskine Academy 1, Camden Hills 1

Trevor Hubbard opened the scoring for Erskine Academy at 17:17 assisted by Luke Peabody. Camden Hills evened the score at 13:06 when Max Pushaw scored a very nice goal off of an excellent Morgan Mercier pass. Through the second half and two overtimes no more goals were to be found and the game ended deadlocked at 1-1.
Both teams had four corner kicks each.
Camden Hills Adam Throne made five saves on 11 shots, compared to Erskine’s Denver Cullivan who made six saves on 13 shots.
"We're struggling a bit right now,” said Camden Hills head coach Ryan Hurley. “It's still early and we have lots of room to grow and come together as a group. I'm confident our leaders will step up and show others what we are capable of. There's lots of fun ahead for this group if we move forward together."

Camden Hills defeated Erskine Academy 3-0. Charlotte Messer scored her first goal of the night 14 minutes into the game when she hit one from 25-yards out. Camden Hills worked hard to create some more scoring opportunities, but couldn't finish in the first half. Quickly into the second half Brynn Anderson served Messer a ball 35-yards away from the goal. Messer fired and sent to the upper right corner.
With 14 minutes to go in the game Messer served a corner kick that Emma Gutheinz finished with a one touch volley to close out the scoring for Camden.
Erskine had three shots on goal, while Camden Hills had nine shots. Julia Holt had three saves for Camden and Cass Ray had six saves. Camden had four corners, compared to Erskine’s one.
