RESULTS
Girls Soccer
Oceanside 3, Lincoln Academy 0… At Thomaston,  The Mariners got goals from three different players in Saturday’s Homecoming Game to hand visiting Lincoln Academy a 3-0 loss.

Abby Veilleux scored the first goal at 0:49 in the first half with a hard shot past the Eagles keeper, Christine Hilton. Casey Jo Pine had an assist on this goal.

In the second half, the Mariners received a goal at the 39-minute mark from Pine off a direct kick from Makenna Brooks that Pine walked into the goal. The final goal came from M. Brooks, Cassidy Boynton, and Brianna Dugan assisted on the play. 

Kalyn Grover was in goal for the Mariners where she recorded another shutout making three saves on three shots. Hilton had 17 saves on 20 shots for Lincoln Academy. Oceanside held the edge in Corner kicks 6-1 and Direct kicks 6-3.

Oceanside is currently in first place in the Maine Principals’ Association Heal Point Standings with a record of 10-0-1. They have three games left. Up next is Nokomis Monday, Oct. 12 at Sam Pendleton Field in Thomaston at 3:30 p.m.

Football
Belfast 45, Waterville 8… At Belfast, Alex Canning rushed 10 times for 242 yards and four touchdowns as Belfast (3-3) beat Waterville (1-5). Bryce Swisher added an 80-yard kickoff return for a touchdown and a 5-yard touchdown as well.  

Brandon Porter caught a 73-yard touchdown pass for the Lions. 

D Begin rushed 10 times for 40 yards. D Ramirez had the lone touchdown for the Panthers and had 83 yards receiving. Pellerin was 10 for 21 for 111 yards and one touchdown and one interception for Waterville.

“Great win for us on senior night, guys came out right from the beginning and played very well,” said Belfast coach Chris Bartlett. “I am extremely happy and proud of our seniors.  We still have work to do and will be getting at it next week. Foxcroft is going to be a hard-hitting team that will play with a lot of pride and will play hard at their place.  But for tonight, it was all about the seniors. Great win for the whole team.”

Mt View 46, Medomak 7… At Waldoboro, Greg Vigue threw for 225 yards and four touchdowns and ran for a 28-yard touchdown to lead MCI. Dillon Fitts caught touchdown passes of 40, 44, and 70-yards. Josh Buker caught a touchdown pass of 25-yards and added a 10-yard touchdown rush. 

Medomak was led defensively by Nick McAulliffe, who had nine tackles and a sack. Riley McCollett added eight tackles. Zach Rollins had six tackles and two assists. For the team defensively they allowed 181-yards rushing, 225-yards in the air. There were 43 rushing plays by MCI for an average of 4.2-years per carry. 

Offensively Cole Ashmore rushed 15 times for 30 yards. It was a tough day for the Panthers as they only had two first downs in the game, they rushed 29 times for 41 yards on the ground and McCollett was 0-for-5 in the air and was intercepted once. 

Owen Gilbert continued to kick the ball well has he had six punts for 234 yards with a long of 47-yards.

Medomak Valley will host Ellsworth Saturday, Oct. 17 at 1 p.m. in Waldoboro.
