Mon, 07/07/2014 - 3:15pm

Sarah E. (Carter) Thompson, 43, of Morrill, died unexpectedly July 4, 2014, in Bangor.

She was born Jan. 17, 1971, at Waldo County General Hospital in Belfast. Sarah graduated from Emmanuel Christian School in 1989. She attended Nyack College and attended nursing school in Louisiana.

Sarah married her husband, Howard Thompson, in 1989.

She was predeceased by her grandparents, Frederick Sr. and Elizabeth Carter, and Charles Sr. and Geraldine Pierpont; her father, Frederick Carter; her uncles, Jack Carter and Royal Pierpont; her nephew, Tyler Paige; and her in-laws, Geraldine and Howard Thompson.

Sarah is survived by her husband, Howard Thompson; their children, April and Josh Symons and grandchildren, Landon and Layla, and Christina Thompson and Howard Joshua Thompson Euceda; her mother, Rebecca Carter; her sister, Olivia (Libby) and her husband, Michael Paige, and their children, Hannah, Sean, Derek and Riley; a sister-in-law, Anna Wroblewski and her husband, Jeff; a special aunt, Norma Bowden; an aunt, Vanessa Field and her daughter, Briana Field, and her partner, Paula Linscott; an uncle, Dennis Field; an uncle, Charles Pierpont Jr. and his wife, Lena; an aunt, Linda Pierpont; as well as several cousins.

When Sarah left the state of Maine she never could have imagined the life that God has in store for her. She experienced life all over the world, literally, because of her husband's job in the Army. She made lifelong friends in each of those places, touching and being touched by each person. God gave her the grace to work, for years, in geriatrics and then, these past few years, as a caregiver for her husband, Howard. She showed people what it looked like to truly live with the redemption of Christ in their lives and she was willing to share it. Regardless of any kind of suffering that she experienced in her life, she trusted that the Lord had a better plan and come out all the more firm in her foundation. She was the most beautiful person and her presence will be greatly missed.

We love you truly, madly and deeply. And we were the lucky ones.

A funeral service, along with her father, Frederick Carter Jr., will be held Saturday, July 19 at 11 a.m. at Morrill Baptist Church in Morrill, followed by interment at Morrill Village Cemetery. A reception will be held at the church following the committal prayers.

Arrangements are under the care of Riposta Funeral Home.
