WALDO — Ronald A. Young passed quietly in his sleep on the morning of April 9, 2016, in his Waldo home.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Linda Fernald Young; his brother, Steve Young and his wife, Carol; his sister, Judy Young Curtis and her husband, David; his children, Deborah Young and her fiance, Rob Dunbar, Jean Young Smith and her partner, Greg Merrifield, Ivory Young and her partner, Felicia Newton, and her son, Shane; his grandchildren, Joseph Hills and his partner, Megan Snow, and her daughter, Skylar, Tyler Hills, Dillon Smith, Kaylen Bradeen and Jayden Reynalds; as well special extended family, Eric Thompson, his children, Asthon and Remington, Lacey Merrifield, Lauren Dunbar and her daughter, Allyson; along with many neices, nephews, cousins, lifelong friends; and a very special aunt, Dot Hawley.

He was predeceased by his father, Wilfred Young; and his mother, Edith Littlefield Young.

Ronald was born in Belfast. He was a graduate of Mt. View High School and lived in Waldo County his whole life. He enjoyed hunting and fishing when he was still well enough to do so, and enjoyed hearing others tell stories of their adventures once he was no longer able to go himself. He spent most of his life working in the woods and in the fields close to nature, and was happy doing it.

Ronald didn't want a memorial service, it wasn't his way. He preferred to remember people as they were in life and would want everyone to hold on to the memories they made with him.

Arrangements are under the care of Riposta Funeral Home
