Mon, 04/14/2014 - 2:15am

ROCKPORT — The Select Board in Rockport will consider a slew of municipal business items Monday evening, April 14, including the possible approval of a peddler’s enterprise selling lunchtime food at Marine Park this summer.

The regularly scheduled board meeting takes place at 7 p.m. in the Rockport Opera House Meeting Room. The meeting is televised on Public Access Channel 22.

Lauren Jellison, of Camden, is asking the Select Board for permission to operate the Fox on the Run food truck at Rockport Marine Park from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday, through the summer season.

Harbor Master Abbie Leonard wrote in her recommendation, that: “It is in my opinion that Fox on the Run will be a welcome addition for park-goers, commercial and recreational boaters, and the town of Rockport.”

Town Manager Rick Bates also recommended the truck, writing: “We are trying to make the harbor more visible and an active contributor to the vitality of the community. This will provide another reason to come to the harbor during the summer months and enjoy spending time there.”

Police Chief Mark Kelley told the board in writing that he saw no reason to deny a permit.
