Rockland student recipient of Maine Red Claws scholarship

South School fourth grader Corbin Farnham receives $1,000 scholarship, recognition at March 10 game

ROCKLAND – Local Rockland student Corbin Farnham, of South School, was announced as one of the five winners of this year's Maine Red Claws High Five Scholarships by the Maine Red Claws Foundation. A fourth grade student at South School, Farnham will receive a $1,000 scholarship in the form of a NextGen 529 account and will be recognized at the March 10 game against the  Canton Charge.

In a press release issued by the Maine Red Claws Foundation, the organization announced the 2013 recipients as: Corbin Farnham of Rockland, Torri Openshaw of Hancock, Sandie Dejoseph of Sebago, Sarah Poli of Benton, and Jacob Bouchard of Portland. Winners were selected from nominations submitted from around the state. To be eligible, students must be an enrolled 4th grade student in the state of Maine and be nominated by a parent or educator based on demonstrated interest in and service to their school, classmates and community.

The High Five Scholarship Program seeks to recognize and motivate students to achieve their potential, be involved in their schools, serve as models for their fellow students, and be catalysts for positive change in their communities.
