Rockland's Steel House is hosting its first fundraising party Thursday, December 28, from 8 p.m. to midnight. Proceeds will support Tech Club, a weekly after-school program that facilitates access to technologists and technology. By crowd-funding Tech Club, Steel House will be able to keep this unique programming free and open to all interested youths. Creating a free space for innovation, invention, tutorials and support, with access to creative professionals, Steel House will be furthering its mission to enrich the midcoast.

For the past two years, Steel House has supported community arts education programming by partnering with and hosting Rockland's After-School Alliance's Arts in Action program. Arts in Action is a program offered by RSU 13 Adult  andCommunity Education to create opportunities for youth artists to showcase and share their talents in actionable ways by partnering fine arts education with community arts and service learning projects. Steel House also provides internship opportunities to local students, donates space for nonprofit and municipal events, and hosts crowdfunding dinners.

Founded in 2014, Steel House is an art, design and technology collective in Rockland, and was recently lauded as one of 13 worldwide "Creative Community Spaces" by the World Bank.

Tickets will be sold at the door for a suggested donation of $10, and will include a single drink ticket.
