ROCKLAND — A man from Owls Head has been charged by Rockland Police with engaging a prostitute, according to a news release by Deputy Police Chief Young.

Nathan Ames, 39, was issued a summons March 16 by Detective Alex Gaylor for engaging a prostitute.

The charge was the result of an investigation by the Rockland Police. Beginning on Jan. 11, the Rockland Police Department began receiving complaints of an adult male using Facebook in an attempt to solicit sex from various local women in exchange for money.

The two agreed to meet at a prearranged location. Ames arrived and was issued a summons by Gaylor for engaging a prostitute, Class E crime.
