ROCKLAND — A Rockland man was sentenced July 27 to four months in jail for possessing child pornography.

Daniel Wescott, 25, of Rockland, pleaded guilty in Knox County Unified Court and was sentenced to four years in jail with all but four months suspended. He will also serve two years of probation after his release.

He is now registered with the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act. (Sorna)

Wescott was arrested on June 23 following an investigation by the Rockland Police Department and Maine Computer Crimes Task Force for incidents in February 2016.

Rockland Police Detective Sgt. Joel Neal had seized computers from Wescott’s home. A search of the computers by the Maine Computer Crimes Task Force revealed multiple images and videos of children, appearing to be between the ages of 6 and 12, engaging in sexual acts with adults and other children.
