BELFAST — Roberta H. (Hallowell) Lear, 93, of Belfast, passed away Nov. 23, 2014, at Tall Pines. She was born July 4, 1921, in Belfast, the daughter of Vilento and Faustie (Hanson) Hallowell.

Roberta was a long-time Belfast resident who moved to Unity in 1991. She was a bookkeeper at Consumers Fuel in Belfast for 36 years. Some of her greatest enjoyment in life came from spending time with her family and her little dog, Holly.

She is predeceased by her parents; her first husband, Robert A. Wood; her second husband, Linwood Lear; and her sister, Thelma Hickley. Roberta is survived by her beloved children, Linda Sherrard and her husband, Gerald E., of Hermon and stepson Richard L. Lear and his wife, Carmen, of Florida; her grandchildren, Kimberley Baxter and Kevin Sherrard; her step-grandchildren, Richard Lear Jr., Lori Jarvis, Robert Lear Jr., Ronald Lear and Sandra Toothaker; and 12 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, Nov. 29 at 11 a.m. at Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Ave. in Belfast. Interment will follow at Grove Cemetery in Belfast.
