CLERMONT, Fla. — Robert M. Wing, 72, passed away April 16, 2013, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Lynn, Mass., he lived and worked in Saugus, Mass., at Borden Ice Cream.

From 1960 to 1964, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps.

In 1978, Bob moved to Maine, and in 1980 he married Arlene Pettengill Robinson.

Bob was a member of the Winslow-Holbrook-Merritt American Legion Post No. 1 in Rockland, where he was a service officer and member of the Honor Guard Team.

Bob is survived by six children, Chris Hollis, Jim Wing, Sheryl Ellis, Bob Wing, Kathy Devine and John Wing; three step-children, Ruth Wells, Keith Robinson and Michael Young; two brothers, Bill Wing and Ronald Wing; several grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Friends and relatives are invited to visit  Thursday, April 25, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, 110 Limerock St. in Rockland, where a funeral service will be held Friday, April 26 at 2 p.m. Interment will follow in Achorn Cemetery on Old County Road in Rockland.
