SEARSMONT - Robert “Bob” Bailey, 70, of Searsmont, passed away on Aug. 22, 2016, at Waldo County Hospital in Belfast. He was born Aug. 27, 1945, to Horace and Alice (Cochran) Bailey.

Bob was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He worked as an outdoor machinist and preservation technician at Bath Iron Works.

He and his brother traveled cross-country on their motorcycles in younger years. Bob was an outdoorsman who enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting. He enjoyed visiting with friends at the American Legion and stopping for his daily coffee at B&M Market to catch up with other friends.

He was predeceased by both of his parents; and his brother, Larry. Bob is survived by his son, Robert Bailey Jr. of Bowdoinham; his brothers, Ira, Peter, Drexal and Mike Bailey; his cousin, Jennifer Bailey; and many other family and friends.
