Remember Eldercare Network while spring cleaning

Tue, 04/14/2015 - 7:00pm

WALDOBORO — ElderCare Network may be able to use some of the items people find while spring cleaning.

Each of the seven Assisted Living homes can often use gently used items in good condition, which previous owners no longer need.

ElderCare Network’s present Wish List: In general they need tablecloths, dessert dishes, more chairs, such as wingback, walkway improvements and upstairs carpeting at one site.

For the Village Care Homes: outside chairs and benches, fans, hanging plants, doormats, round picnic table, an outside umbrella and base.

Specific to Round Pond Green: dining room chairs with arms, a keyboard, a coffee table and outside chairs.

Volunteers are always welcomed and needed, according to a news release.

More specifically, to visit with residents, host the monthly First Friday Coffees at each site, yard cleanup, driveway sweeping, and general winter clean-up.

All who are interested can contact the home nearest them for volunteer opportunities, or contact Pam at Wiscasset Green 207-882-1164.

ElderCare network cares for seniors in seven locations; Boothbay, Edgecomb, Damariscotta, Jefferson, Round Pond, Waldoboro and Wiscasset.

They also provide Adult Day Services at all sites and Independence at Home to help seniors remain in their own homes as long as possible.
