Running to make Christmas special for local children

Reindeer run through the city for Toys for Tots

ROCKLAND The streets of Rockland were full of Reindeer Sunday morning as the Reindeer 4-miler road race for Toys for Tots was held with 46 runners and walkers out for an enjoyable December day.

Theo Emery was the race winner with a time of 22:56.5. Jala Tooley was the first female with a time of 26:51.2. Finn Emery was the youngest to finish the race with a time of 34:02.8. Art Warren was the elder of the runners at the age of 80 finished 30th with a time of 40:06.0. Colin Stewart won the best holiday dress award.

The cost for the race was $15 with a donation of a new, unwrapped toy, or $20 without a toy. Toys for Tots is a program that is run by a 100 percent volunteer group of the United States Marines. They work all overt country to bring Christmas to the neediest of children right n your neighborhood.
