CAMDEN — Last Friday, Watershed students gave presentations from this year's Project Week to a standing-room only crowd.

Students exhibited a diverse array of talent and interest, including computer coding for graphic design, oil painting, sailmaking, building a Purple Martin Bird House, volunteering at the Children's Museum.

There was a presentation on forming nonprofit collaboration models for the City of Gardiner and Colby College Museum of Art, learning jazz chords, making cross country skis, creating ergonomic keyboards, and many others.

Each year, Watershed students choose a topic of interest and connect with a Subject Matter Expert, known as SMEs. Over the course of seven days, students fan out into local workshops, studios, classrooms, concert halls, and other locales specific to their Project.

At the end of the week, students gathered to share their work using a fun and challenging Pecha Kucha format.

In a news release, Watershed Director Will Galloway reflected on the value of the week in that "it provides an excellent opportunity for young people to delve deeply into a topic and develop meaningful connections with mentors in the community."
