Special meeting postponed

POSTPONED: Camden proposes moratorium on retailing pot, social clubs

Tue, 01/24/2017 - 8:30am

Inclement weather has resulted in the postponement of tonight’s meetings at the Camden Town Office.

Camden leaders are proposing a moratorium on retail marijuana establishments and retail marijuana social clubs. They were to meet this evening Jan. 24, at a special town meeting, but that has been postponed, given the ice storm.

The moratorium is being proposed “so as to provide an opportunity for the inhabitants of the Town of Camden to reasonably investigate and implement such local ordinances or amendments as citizens deem appropriate to address the recently approved state referendum authorizing social clubs and retail sales of marijuana for recreational use.”

See attached PDFs to read the draft marijuana ordinance.
