LINCOLNVILLE — Waldo County Sheriff's detectives are investigating a report of a possible sexual assault at a Lincolnville business.

On Oct. 1, Deputy Cassandra McDonald responded to the complaint, and met with a woman who claimed that several days prior, she had been at her business alone when a male approached the counter and blew a powder into her face.

"The victim claimed the powder caused her to become unconscious, at which time she believes she may have been assaulted by the male," said the Sheriff's Office in a press release Oct. 21.

Since the initial report, detectives with the Sheriff's Office have been investigating the incident with assistance from the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency and Maine State Police.

The suspect is described as being an older male with brown wavy hair, approximately 6 feet to 6 feet 2 inches tall, weighing more than 200 pounds.

Detectives are investigating every aspect of the case, according to the release, and encourage anyone with information, or who may have seen anything suspicious to contact Waldo County Sheriff's Detective Dale Brown at 207-338-2040.
