WATERVILLE — After two days of the Maine Women’s Amateur golf championships July 29 and 30 in Waterville, 14-year-old Bailey Plourde of Newcastle tied for third place overall.

Plourde, who plays at the Samoset Resort Golf Course, tied with Micki Meggison with a final score of 160. Plourde, who won her flight, shot an 82 on the first day and a 78 on the second. 

Last year, the teen placed 14th overall in the competition. 

Leslie Guenther shot a 157 to win the 2014 championship, while Mary Brandes shot a 159 to claim second.
