ROCKLAND — The Coastal Children's Museum is hosting a Pirate Day on Saturday, August 19. There will be Pirate themed crafts and activity taking place all day at the museum from 10am-4pm. Kids and parents will get a chance to explore a real sailboat belonging to the Sail Power and Steam Museum from 10am-1pm, and there will be a special craft making pirate hats from 1-2pm.

Families are also invited to participate in a Community Treasure Hunt on that day. Using a special map, families will be guided to 5 locations on Main St. in Rockland to collect stamps. After all 5 stamps are gathered, kids can hand in their map at the Coastal Children's Museum from 10am-4pm to collect their treasure. Maps can be picked up at the museum, printed off from the museum's website (www.coastalchildrensmuseum.org), or can be picked up on Saturday, Aug. 19th at any of the 5 participating businesses on Main St.; hello hello books, Project Puffin Visitor's Center, Snowdrop Confections, The Grasshopper Shop, and Clementine.
