Photography show at Appleton Library - Call for submissions

    APPLETON — The Appleton Library will be holding a photography exhibition November 21- December 20. All photographers with ties to Appleton are invited to submit work.

    Adults, and students in grades K-12 are all encouraged to participate.

    The theme for the photo exhibition is "Home and Away".

    The library is looking for photos that portray your idea of "home" as well as special places you visit. Photos may include scenery, people, activities, and other subjects that represent the theme.

    Submissions for the exhibition may be turned in between Saturday, Nov. 15, and Wednesday, Nov. 19 at the Appleton Library on Sennebec Road. Students may also drop work off with photo teacher Carolyn Brown at Camden Hills Regional High School, or with art teacher Anthony Lufkin at Appleton Village School.

    An opening reception for the exhibit will be held on Friday, November 21, from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. at the Appleton Library on Sennebec Road. All photographers, families, and community members are welcome to attend.

    Appleton Photo Show submission guidelines

    • Photographers of all ages are invited to submit work for the exhibition. Students in grades K-12 are encouraged to submit work.

    •You may submit up to three photos; we will hang as many as space allows, with everyone having at least one photo in the exhibit.

    •Photos for exhibition should represent the theme "Home and Away."

    •Photos should be framed and ready to hang on the wall.

    •K-12 students who cannot get frames for their work may bring their printed photos to the library, with the identification tag attached, and we will provide frames for the exhibition.

    •Photos for the exhibition should be clearly labeled on the back with the photographer's name, photo title and contact information (for our records only) and selling price, if applicable. (NFS= Not for Sale) See the tag at the bottom of this sheet.

    •Photos should be suitable for viewing by all ages. In other words, for this show, please don't include nudes or other similar content.

    •Photos for exhibition should be dropped off at the Appleton Library during open hours between Saturday, November 15th and Wednesday, November 19th, or contact organizer Carolyn Brown for other arrangements. appletonphotoshow@gmail.com or Carolyn.Brown@fivetowns.net. Deadline for drop-off of photos for the exhibit is Wednesday, Nov.19.
