Philip H. Woods, obituary

CAMDEN— Philip H. Woods, 81, passed away on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at the Sussman House in Rockport following complications of pituitary cancer.

Philip was born in Albany, New York on September 9, 1936, and lived his whole life in the Northeast. He was an alumnus of Phillips Exeter Academy, Princeton, and Stanford. He built a long career in market analysis in Boston and New York retiring to Camden, where he pursued his dream of becoming a published author. When he wasn't reading or writing, Philip enjoyed gardening, long walks, socializing at the Megunticook Golf and Camden Yacht clubs, and sharing poetry with friends in Alan Goldman's Book Club.

Philip is survived by his wife of 38 years, Evelyn Freeman Woods of Camden; Wendy Woods of Boylston, MA; son, Alexander Woods of Arlington, VA; step-daughter, Tamzyn Freeman Palmer of Camden; and step-son, Talbot Freeman of Camden and Ft. Lauderdale, FL; 10 beloved grandchildren. Sadly, he was predeceased by his son, Andrew Woods of Kansas City, MO in August of this year.

A memorial celebration of Phil's life will be planned at a later date.
