Perfect timing: Camden Garden Club members on The Chris Wolf Show

Thu, 05/19/2016 - 3:00pm

The Camden Garden Club is involved in a number of projects involving plants.  But they also have a very important project, Plants for Scholars, which is about plants and people.  Plants for Scholars is funded by the Camden Garden Club’s annual spring plant sale, with the plants donated by members of the Garden Club.

It’s all become part of Camden’s growing Business is Blooming initiative and event, presented by the Camden Area Business Group.

Plant sales have been a part of Camden Garden Club’s history since 1938. The club established its scholarship program in 1984, and to date more than 100 students, majoring in horticulture-related subjects, have benefited.

The proceeds of the plant sale provide the funds necessary to maintain this significant educational resource for the community.

On Friday, May 20, special guests on the Chris Wolf Show will be four members of the Camden Garden Club, including Elizabeth Moran, Heather Moran, Stephanie Mathews and Kath Holland. They’re going to talk about the plant sale, the Garden Club, the club’s Annual Garden Tour and gardening in general.

The Camden Garden Club’s Plants for Scholars sale will be held Saturday and Sunday, May 21 and 22, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. both days, under the portico of Allen Insurance on Elm Street in downtown Camden.

Camden Garden Club members will be on hand at the sale to talk more about the club’s activities, including the upcoming House & Garden Tour on July 21. You can also visit their website camdengardenclub.com for more information.
