ROCKPORT — The Penobscot Bay YMCA is seeking donations for its 2018 annual Boat Auction scheduled for the second Saturday in June. Since the first auction in 1998, this major fundraising event provides much needed support to send kids to summer camp. The Y opens its doors to everyone regardless of their ability to pay.

Haven't used your boat much this season? Anticipating storage fees for ANOTHER winter, before you think about putting your boat up for the winter – Y not consider donating your to the Y. The boat auction's success is due mainly to boat donations by private owners.

The Y is looking for new or old boats (sail, power, dinghy, kayak, canoe, skiffs, rowing shells, surf boards, and just about anything that floats) or other nautical items that individuals would like to donate or a tax write-off. Someone from the Y will stop by and make sure it is suitable, and arrange for transportation at no expense to the donor.
