WALDOBORO — Where the Gulls Are, a solo exhibition of works by Friendship artist Pam Cabañas, opens Wednesday, June 8, with an artist's reception Saturday, June 11, from 5 to 7 p.m., at Tidemark Gallery on Main Street in Waldoboro.

There is a lot going on in a Cabañas painting. She sees the tensions and the humor of life on the Friendship peninsula and tells authentic, wordless stories with her artistic discipline and austere colors.

Cabañas' works in ink, gouache, watercolor and pastel are expressive of both the harsh and the tender, life and death, the simple truth of black and white; the delicate balance that sustains our shores.
