Babe Ruth tryouts for those in the zone of Oceanside High School will be held Saturday, May 2 in Thomaston. The goal is to field a Rockland Cafe squad and a Georges Valley squad. THOMASTON — Babe Ruth tryouts for those living in the towns of Rockland, Thomaston, South Thomaston, Cushing, Owls Head and St. George will be held Saturday, May 2 at 3 p.m. at the Oceanside baseball field in Thomaston.
The goal, if enough players attend tryouts, is to field a team sponsored by Rockland Café and a team representing Georges Valley.
Any player born on or after May 1, 1999, and prior to May 1, 2002, is eligible to play Babe Ruth baseball.
The tryout is sponsored in part by Rockland Café and a rain date has been set for Sunday, May 3 at 2 p.m.
