November supermoon is pretty super cool

Tue, 11/15/2016 - 12:15pm

LINCOLNVILLE — The supermoon happens when the moon's orbit, on an ellipse, brings the La Luna closest to the earth. This month’s supermoon is the closest it’s been to earth since 1948, and the closest it will be until 2034.

We have seen lots of photos of the Nov. 14 supermoon on social media, shared by our friends, and even took a photo to share with you here.

If you were lucky enough to capture some photos of the supermoon over the past day-and-a-half, and want to share them with PenBayPilot.com readers, send them to news@penbaypilot.com to be added to a photo gallery.
