Northport crash injures four

    NORTHPORT — On Saturday, January 20, the Waldo County Dispatch Center received a 911 report of a crash that occurred on the Belfast Road, Route 52, in Northport. It was reported that a single vehicle was involved and the vehicle had left the roadway and rolled over. 

     Deputies Casey McDonald and Dave Wight responded to the scene, finding two adults and two juvenile females in the car. Deputies determined that the vehicle had drifted off the roadway and over-corrected causing the vehicle to cross the opposite lane and roll over several times, according to a news release from the Waldo County Sheriff’s Office.

    During the investigation, deputies determined that both adults had been consuming alcohol. The driver, Tyler Cotter 27, of Bangor, was arrested and charged with operating under the influence, Class D, endangering the welfare of a child, Class D and driving to endanger, Class C. The adult female passenger, Amanda Hendrickson, 31, of Hampden, was charged with violation of conditions of release, Class D and endangering the welfare of a child, Class D. 

    All four occupants of the vehicle were transported to the Waldo County Hospital for treatment of various injuries. Both juveniles were treated for minor injuries and released. Tyler Cotter was treated and taken into custody. Hendrickson was transported from Waldo County to Eastern Maine Medical Center, in Bangor, for treatment of nonlife-threatening injuries. 

     Tyler Cotter was processed at the Waldo County Correctional Center and later released on $300.00 cash bail.
