NOAA scientist to present on climate change and what it means for St. George

TENANTS HARBOR — Laurel Watts, a scientist with NOAA in Boulder, Colorado, is coming home. Dr. Watts was raised in Tenants Harbor and attended St. George School. After graduating from the University of Maine, she continued her studies at the Colorado School of Mines where she earned a Ph.D in chemical engineering.

Today she works at NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) as part of the Atmospheric Research Team.

Dr. watts will be visiting her hometown in September, and will present a program on climate change at 1 p.m., on Thursday, Sept 21, at Jackson Memorial Library. The talk will discuss, "Climate Change: What it means for St. George."
