New York woman charged with heroin possession

Was reportedly attempting to sell the drug in Waldo County

    WINTERPORT — A New York woman was arrested Feb. 5, after authorities were advised she was in the area attempting to sell drugs. 

    Amanda Crain, 30, of Hyde Park, N.Y., was arrested in a coordinated effort by Waldo County Sheriff’s Office Corporal Merl Reed and Deputy James Porter, in addition to agents from the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency. 

    Crain was located in the parking lot of On the Run in Winterport Village. 

    At the time of her arrest she was found to be in possession of four grams of heroin and $321 cash. 

    Crain has been charged with unlawful trafficking in schedule W drugs and is currently being held at Waldo County Correctional Center on $10,000 cash bond.
