WARREN — The Midcoast Recreation Center has partnered with the PITCH, the new indoor turf sports facility in Warren, to offer sport performance training opportunities to the Midcoast.

The two organizations have partnered to offer spring preseason sports performance training to local athletes at an affordable price. The five week training program begins Tuesday, March 10 and runs until Thursday, April 9.

The $85 tuition includes one strength training session per week at the MRC by ACE certified instructor, Betsy Kingsley and one agility & plyometric training class per week at the PITCH with National Academy of Sports Medicine CPT certified fitness instructor, Thor Emory.

“One of the goals we had while building the Pitch was to be able to offer quality sports performance training,” stated Tammy Krul, General Manager at the PITCH. “We want our [Midcoast] athletes to have access to the same training opportunities as athletes from other parts of the state.

We strongly believe in performance training because of the advantages it gives the athletes as well as being an effective tool for injury prevention,” added Krul.

MRC personal trainer, Betsy Kingsley, will oversee the strength portion of the program. She has 20 years of exercise training experience and is known for her ability to transform athletes.

“Betsy is the best of the best,” according to Robbie Krul, the PITCH’s program manager and one of Kingsley’s clients. “I’ve been involved in many sports training programs throughout my life, but none as challenging and effective as hers. She is a real gem to our community and will do an amazing job with the students.”

Leading the agility & plyo classes at the PITCH is NASM certified instructor, Thor Emory. As a professional paddle board athlete, lacrosse player & instructor, former ski patroller and senior outward bound instructor, Emory understands the value of performance training and knows how to challenge himself as well as other athletes. Emory is also one of Kingsley’s clients at the MRC and is excited to partner with her to bring this opportunity to the area.
