Movie night: ‘One Against the Wind’

THOMASTON - Friday night, Jan. 13, at 6:30 p.m., Thomaston Public Library will host a free showing of One Against the Wind, 1991 NR 110 minutes.

Mary Lindell (Judy Davis) in occupied France during World War II, is working for the underground. She helps Allied soldiers who have been shot down, escape to the unoccupied side. Her activities are complicated by her high profile as a comtesse and, her daughter's love affair with a German officer. Based on the true story of an extraordinary, courageous woman, twice awarded the Croix de Guerre for Valor. (Her first award was for service as a Red Cross nurse in World War I).


Friday night films are open to the public and free of charge, but donations are gratefully accepted. The Thomaston Academy Building is handicapped accessible from the rear entrance. Light refreshments will be served. For more information, call the library at 354-2453.
