SOUTH THOMASTON – Milton W. Grierson, 89, died Aug. 17, 2016, at Sussman House in Rockport, following an extended period of declining health.

Born in South Thomaston on April 22, 1927, he was the son of Chester A. and Marcia Creamer Grierson. Milt attended South Thomaston schools.

On April 29, 1955, he married Beverly A. Grant in Rockland. The couple made their home in South Thomaston all their married lives.

For more than 40 years, Milt was employed with the City of Rockland Department of Public Works, retiring in August of 1990 as a working foreman.

He enjoyed hunting, gardening and “digging dirt.” Milt was a member of Harmony Bible Church in South Thomaston.

In addition to his parents, Milt was predeceased by his siblings, Roger Grierson, Hester Dennison, Philip Grierson and Isabelle Laramie. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Beverly of South Thomaston; three sons, George W. Grierson and his wife, Karen, Richard A. “Rick” Grierson and his wife, Maxine, and David M. Grierson of South Thomaston; one daughter, Deborah Olsavick and her husband, Ronald; several precious grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.

No service will be held at this time. A graveside committal will be announced at a later date.
