Thu, 07/02/2015 - 11:30pm

WALDOBORO — Down 4-0 and entering the bottom of the sixth inning, Midcoast was on the verge of dropping another contest, this time to their Waldo County counterparts.

However, the Knox County-based team had some fight left in them and plated four runs in the bottom of sixth to knot the game up.

After holding Waldo County Steamboat to no runs in the top of the seventh, Ben Rollins lead off the frame with a single and an error put Joe Chamberlain on first base and Rollins on second. Ollie Brown ripped a single to load the bases to bring up Connor Graffam. Graffam smashed a single to drive in Rollins, who beat the throw to the plate to end the contest with a score of 5-4 in favor of Midcoast.

Waldo County Steamboat plated two runs in the first stanza and one each in the fourth and sixth innings.

At the plate for Midcoast were Rollins (single, run), Chamberlain (run), Brown (single), Graffam (single, run), Shawn Pinkham (triple, run), Audrey Pennington (single, run), John Hall (single) and Isaac Eustler (single).

At the plate for Waldo County Steamboat were Mikey Hustus (two runs), Kyle Moore (single), Drew Stanley (run) and Zach Collier (double, run).
