CAMDEN — Michael Lewis Temple, 50, of Camden, died March 6, 2013, at Maine Medical Center after a very brief illness. Born in Rockland Nov. 20, 1962, he was the son of Jack M. and Arlene (Demmons) Temple. He grew up in Rockland and was a 1982 graduate of Rockland District High School.

Mike worked for Camden Hills Regional High School since 2006, as well as Central Maine Cleaning for the last four years. Mike was well known for his strong work ethic and he took great pride in his work. At CHRHS, he was always willing to lend an extra hand to teachers, staff members, students and parents. Mike developed a special affinity for the special education students, reaching out not only to the students, but to their parents as well. Whether donating time to set up for special events, proms and dances or to check the school during the middle of the night, one could count on Mike being there.

In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking, and recently designed and made very detailed cutting boards for all of his family. He loved going target shooting with his sons and friends and was looking forward to getting back into hunting with his son this fall. Mike was a history buff, he loved all things Star Trek, going to the movies on almost a weekly basis and he enjoyed spending time and doing things with and for his family.

The family's grief has been lessoned knowing that Michael's generous gift — through the New England Organ Bank — has enhanced the lives of four recipients and will help with research.

Predeceased by his mother Arlene D. Temple; Michael is survived by his partner and fiancé, Bobbi Ann Oxton of Camden; three sons, Ryan L. Temple of Lisbon Falls, Christopher M. Temple and his fiancé, Kimberly Dvorak, of Rockland, and James-Michael Temple of Camden and Waldoboro; his father, Jack M. Temple of Rockland; his in-laws, Bob and Judy Oxton of Camden; his sister, Marjorie Wooster of Rockland; his niece, Salina Carriere; and his great-nieces, Addison and Destinee Lincoln of Rockland; his brother, John and his wife, Shelly Temple, of Thomaston; his nieces Belle and Summer Temple; his brother and sister-in-law, Stan and Susan Griffin of Union; his niece, Megan Griffin of Camden; his niece, Stephanie Shuman and her husband, Joel, of Waldoboro; his nephew, Robby Griffin of Union; his niece, Samantha Griffin of Union; and other extended family members and many, many friends.

A graveside service will be announced in the spring and will be held in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Camden.
