Teams in the Midcoast Babe Ruth League pushed through the second week of games Sunday, May 24 which saw four teams keep their undefeated records through two contests.

Game Summaries

Swan Lake Grocery tops Georges Valley 5-3

Swan Lake Grocery plated one run in each the first, fourth and sixth and two in the fifth. Meanwhile, Georges Valley scored three in the fourth inning. 

Working the mound for Georges Valley were Logan Sheridan (five innings, five fanned batters) and Michael Dougherty (one inning, one fanned batter). The duo combined to allow six hits. 

On the hill for Swan Lake Grocery were Zach Dyer (three innings, six fanned batters), Skyler Perkins (two innings) and Grey Dinsmore (one inning, three fanned batters). The trio combined to allow five hits. 

At the plate for Georges Valley Mitchell DelFrate, Dougherty, Cody Ward and Caleb Powell each had a single and Uriah Thongsaphone had a double. 

For Swan Lake Grocery, Garrrett Hamlin, Dinsmore, Dakota Payson and Max Lewis each had a single, Dyer had a single, double and two RBI. 

Rockland Café swings to 20-11 victory over Waldoboro

Through the opening four innings, Rockland Café had a 16-1 advantage, but Waldoboro stormed back in the fifth. However, it wasn’t a big enough storm as Rockland Café added a few more insurance runs. 

Rockland Café scored four in the first, 10 in the second, one in each the third, fourth and fifth and three in the seventh. Waldoboro scored one in the third, nine in the fifth and one in the sixth. 

At the plate for the Rockland-based squad were Zach Cody (five runs), Hunter Davis (four hits, four runs, two RBI), Jack Freeman (three hits, three runs, two RBI), Michael Norton (three hits, two runs, two RBI), Matt Waldron (two hits, two runs, four RBI), Trevor Reed (RBI), Josh Peaco (two runs), Alex O’Brien (run), Ben Polan (hit, run, RBI) and Andrew Secord (hit, run, two RBI). 

Waldoboro batters included Wyatt Post (hit, run), Kody Progne (RBI), Parcus Pierpont (run), Brett Collamore (run, two RBI), Connor Robinson (run, RBI), Brent Stewart (two hits, two runs, RBI), Ben Dever (hit, run, RBI), Kevin White (two hits, run, two RBI), Ethan Spear (hit, run, two RBI), Andrew Preull (run) and Mike Simmons (run).
