ROCKLAND – Marcia D. Benner, 50, died unexpectedly Nov. 13, 2016, surrounded by loved ones, at her home.

Born in Damariscotta on May 12, 1966, she was the daughter of Daniel and Ella Benner Willey. Growing up in Bristol, Marcia was educated there.

For a brief time, Marcia was employed at Fieldcrest Manor in Waldoboro. A caregiver her entire life, Marcia loved nothing more than being with her children and grandchildren. Watching sci-fi shows, especially supernatural and X-Files with her daughter was a favorite pastime. She will be sadly missed by all who loved her.

She was predeceased by a granddaughter, Kara Brewer in 2015; three brothers, Kenneth Willey, Stuart Benner and Daniel Benner; and a sister, Katherine “Sue” Ramsey. Marcia is survived by her children, Stephen Benner and his wife, Lacey Beal, and Danielle Benner, all of Rockland; her companion and the father of her children, James “Jim” Green of Damariscotta; her siblings, Merrill Benner and his wife, Roberta, of Damariscotta, James “Jimmy” Benner of Waldoboro, Dwight “Paul” Benner of Oxford, and Marilyn Bredeau and June Benner, both of Damariscotta; nine grandchildren, Kaylie Brewer, Charity Brewer, Lilly Brewer, Payton Benner, Brianna Feyler, Aaliyah Thompson, Kaleigh Thompson, Landen Benner, and Stephen “Jayce” Benner; and her sisters-in-law, Heidi Grover of Woolwich, Cindy Green of Texas, Debbie Green of Brunswick, and Carolyn Curtis of South Portland.

Marcia's family has chosen to remember her life privately.
