Man threatens woman with gun, police say

    ROCKLAND — A South Thomaston man was arrested by the Knox County Sheriff’s Office and charged with domestic violence criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon.

    Anthony J. Simaitis, 51, was arrested March 19 for allegedly threatening a woman with a gun.

    Simaitis made his initial appearance March 21 in Knox County Unified Court. Judge Patricia Worth set his bail at $1,000 cash, which he posted later in the day.

    Simaitis denied that he pointed the gun at the woman, according to police.

    Police arrested Simaitis and transported him to the Knox County Jail in Rockland.

    Simaitis will appear in court again April 26 for a dispositional conference.
