BELFAST — A man charged in relation to a spate of fall burglaries has been arrested again after allegedly entering unlocked vehicles in a local supermarket parking lot, according to Belfast Police Sergeant Daniel Fitzpatrick.

Peter McCaffrey, 46, of Belfast, was arrested and charged with burglary of a motor vehicle, operating after suspension and violating conditions of release.

Fitzpatrick said he was parked at the Belfast Fire Department talking with Corporal Johnson of the State Police when the report came in from a concerned witness around 11:30 a.m. March 23.

Both law enforcement members headed to the scene where the caller, still on the phone with dispatch, pointed them in McCaffrey’s direction.

The charge of violating conditions of release is a class C felony due to the conditions being the result of an earlier felony crime.
