Maine Woodland Owners offers chainsaw safety course

SEARSMONT — Brush up your chainsaw skills at this workshop geared for both novices and more experienced loggers. It will be led by Ted Wright, who oversees the Northeast Master Logger Certification Program and Brent West of Georges River Land Trust. The event will take place from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on September 23.

Participants will be divided into two groups, advanced and novice/intermediate. Chainsaw maintenance, safety, and proper bucking and felling techniques will be demonstrated. Protective gear and chainsaws will be available. Participants can bring their own chainsaws and are advised to bring a bagged lunch.
