Maine State Police Troop D beat

    AUGUSTA — Maine State Police Troop D reported the following activity Nov. 10-16. Troop D is responsible for Maine's Midcoast, including Sagadahoc, Lincoln, Waldo, and Knox counties, the southern half of Kennebec County and part of northern Cumberland County. The troop also patrols Interstate 295, from Brunswick to Gardiner. The troop's complement includes a lieutenant, three sergeants, 25 troopers and a secretary. An arrest or summons does not imply guilt.

    Nov. 10

    Trooper Eric Verhille stopped a vehicle on Route 32 in China after observing the vehicle cross both the center and fog lines. Sara Emmons, 21, of South China, was ultimately arrested for operating under the influence.

    Trooper Desiree Wuthenow received a report of a protection order violation in Lincolnville. The case has been forwarded to the district attorney for review.

    Trooper Wuthenow took a report of a burglary in Searsmont where the caretaker discovered the home had been broken into. The owners returned from out of state and reported multiple items missing. Investigation continues.

    Trooper Christopher Rogers stopped a vehicle on Route 126 in West Gardiner for poor operation. Following investigation, Callie Boynton-Fortin, 19, was charged with unlawful possession of schedule W drugs.

    Trooper Rogers stopped a vehicle on Ryder Road in Farmingdale for an expired inspection sticker. Furth investigation revealed marijuana in the vehicle and Ricky Gordon, 38, was issued a summons for the offense.

    Nov. 11

    Trooper Rogers complete an investigation of Rick Soucy, 36, of West Gardiner, who was charged with two counts of possession of heroin and violation conditions of release.

    Trooper Rogers stopped a vehicle on Northern Avenue in Farmingdale for not having an inspection sticker. Following investigation, Tony Smith, 30, was issued summonses for illegal attachment of plates and operating without insurance. The vehicle was towed.

    Troopers Rogers and Mark Ferreira responded to a report of an out-of-control juvenile in Litchfield.

    Trooper Ferreira stopped Jennifer Farrington, 37, of West Gardiner on high Street in West Gardiner for a vehicle defect. Further investigation revealed a passenger in the vehicle, Rick Soucy, had a warrant for his arrest and was also in possession of schedule W drugs. Soucy was arrested and Farrington was issued summonses for operating with suspended registration and attaching false plates. Troopers Rogers and Moore assisted with the vehicle stop.

    Troopers Wuthenow, Jeremiah Wesbrock and Sergeant Hood responded to a report of a protection order violation in Lincolnville. Investigation continues.

    Trooper Moore took a complaint of theft in Northport and charges are pending.

    Trooper Wuthenow took a report of a theft in Liberty. Investigation is ongoing and charges are pending.

    Trooper Wuthenow took a report of theft from a vehicle at the Walker School in Liberty. Investigation continues.

    Nov. 12

    Trooper Benjamin Sweeney stopped a vehicle on Oak Hill Road in Swanville for a missing inspection sticker. The operator, Marissa Sprague, 22, of Swanville, was ultimately inssued summons for operating after suspension, illegal attachment of plates and possession of drug paraphernalia. Passengers Lyle Littlefiled, 28, and Laura Walsh, 28, both also of Swanville, were arrested for violating conditions of release. Waldo County Sheriff's Office deputies Littlefield and Reed assisted.

    Trooper Sarah Ferland received a report of a possible sexual assault of a minor. Investigation was turned over to Bucksport Police where the investigation continues.

    Trooper Ferland received a report of a missing juvenile who was later located.

    Troopers Seth Allen and Verhille arrested Patrick Daniels, 31, at his home in West Gardiner for warrants.

    Nov. 13

    Trooper Allen arrested Tony Bartlett, 24, in Augusta for a protection from abuse order stemming from an incident Nov. 5.

    Nov. 14

    Sergeant Patrick Hood and Trooper Wuthenow responded to a report of a criminal trespass in Searsmont. Gregory Clark, 44, of Calais, was given a criminal trespass notice.

    Trooper Nicolas Gleeson stopped a vehicle on I-295 in Richmond for expired registration and Elizabeth Fuller-Wright, 33, was issued a summons for the offense.

    Trooper Ferland stopped to investigate a motorist who had come to an abrupt stop on Slab City Road in Lincolnville. While speaking with the driver, David McPheters, 80, detected an odor of marijuana and ultimately issued McPheters a summons for possession of a useable amount of marijuana.

    Trooper Ferreira stopped a vehicle on Route 9 in Chelsea for a traffic infraction. Following investigation, Kathleen Stevens, 26, of Boothbay, was issued a summons for possession of drug paraphernalia. Passenger Daniel Barter, 23, also of Boothbay, was issued summonses for possession of marijuana and possession of a schedule W drug.

    Nov. 15

    Trooper Niles Krech stopped a vehicle for an inspection sticker violation, ultimately issuing Jesse Lewis, 31, a summons for possession of a useable amount of marijuana.

    Trooper Ferland stopped a vehicle for a seatbelt violation in Lincolnville. The operator, Tyler Grindle, 21, of Lincolnville, was ultimately issued summonses for operating after suspension and a seatbelt violation.

    Trooper Ferreira stopped a vehicle on Maine Avenue in West Gardiner for a vehicle defect. Further investigation revealed the operator, Angela Holman, 24, of West Gardiner, was in possession fo drug paraphernalia and she was issued a summons for the offense.

    Nov. 16

    Trooper Allen arrested Matthew Thompson, 26, on a warrant after stopping his vehicle for a defect.

    Trooper Allen responded to a report of an argument between a juvenile and her stepmother. It was determined the juvenile struck her stepmother in the chest and she was issued a summons for assault.
