Maine DEA makes cocaine bust on Verona Island, Bucksport

    The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency said four people were arrested Tuesday night on Verona Island, near Bucksport, and charged with selling crack cocaine and heroin. MDEA was assisted during the investigation and search of the house Feb. 13 by the Hancock County Sheriff's Office, Bucksport and State Police.

    Drug agents said the drugs were being sold on the island and in the Bucksport area.

    MDEA agents with the Downeast Drug Task Force based in Ellsworth conducted the investigation, which included the undercover purchase of crack cocaine.

    The arrests took place at a residence located at 343 East Side Drive on Verona Island. Seized from the house were 38.4 grams of crack cocaine and 41.1 grams of heroin, with a combined street value of $11,000. Also seized was $3,163.00 in cash, which are the suspected proceeds from drug sales . Arrested were the two residents of the home --

    Robert Maddocks (44) of Verona Island – Class B – Unlawful Trafficking of a Schedule W Drugs (Heroin/Crack Cocaine).
    Heather Godin (44) of Verona Island – Class B – Unlawful Trafficking of Schedule W Drugs (Heroin/Crack Cocaine).

    also arrested were two people from Massachusetts ---
    Cyntoine D. Sloan (34) of Worcester, MA – Class B – Unlawful Trafficking of Schedule W Drugs (Heroin/Crack Cocaine).
    Rebecca Atamian (28) of Fitchburg, MA – Class B – Unlawful Trafficking of Schedule W Drugs (Heroin/Crack Cocaine).

    All were taken to the Hancock County Jail.
