UNION — Mabel M. Pease, 82, passed away Feb. 21, 2015, peacefully at her home in Union. Mabel was born Jan. 21, 1933, the daughter of the late Roger and Hilda (Robbins) Morang. Mabel grew up in Appleton and attended local schools and was proud of the fact that she was on the high school basketball team for six years, try and figure that one out.

Mabel worked for many years at Tibbetts Industries, but her passion was selling Avon. Mabel sold Avon products for more than 34 years and became so busy helping people find their perfect look that she was able to leave Tibbetts and focus solely on running her business. Mabel truly had a gift and received many various awards for her work with Avon, keeping and handing down many of her awards and beauty tips. One of Mabel's proudest accomplishments was when she received her GED diploma in 1968. Mabel completed this journey while working full time and raising three kids, a true testament to her drive to succeed.

Mabel loved to dance, and could be found at a variety of different venues throughout the area dancing the night away — wherever there was good music to be found Mabel was not very far behind. She loved to keep herself busy with crafts. She could be found crocheting and designing her own projects. In the spring and the summer, Mabel loved to be in the garden and enjoyed filling up her bird feeders and watching as a variety of different birds would come and enjoy a meal, as she was able to watch them from the comfort of her home. Mabel could also be found working on "her" puzzle, a historic puzzle that she would create, take a part, and start over again.

Mabel also loved to give back to the community she loved. She did this by helping at the Thompson Community Center run their flea market and also lent a hand during various beano games throughout the year. She was one-of-a-kind and had a heart of gold and will be sadly missed by all that knew and loved her — but they know that she will always be watching over them as she is dancing in the sky.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Robert Pease; her brothers, Arthur and Kenneth Stockbridge, and Roger Morang Jr.; and her sister, Pat Linden. Survivors include her husband of 11 years, Philip Pease of Union; her daughter, Bonnie Robinson and her husband, Stan, of Lincolnville; her son, Dennis Pease of Appleton; her daughter, Becky Hughes and her husband, Joe, of Appleton; ber stepchildren, Bruce Beattie and his wife, Sharon, of Connecticut, Katrina Oakes and her husband, Tim, of Appleton, and Bruce Pease of Washington; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and three great great-grandchildren.

Should friends desire, memorial donations may be made to the Thompson Community Center, P.O. Box 824, Union, ME 04862.

A celebration of Mabel's life will be held Friday, Feb. 27 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Masonic Hall in Union, with a graveside service to be held in the spring.

Arrangements are entrusted to Hall Funeral Home.
